Update

This week has been a whirlwind and there are no signs that things are going to slow down. Throughout this week some of the students have had time to work on an in class assignment. We have been creating research projects through the use of Glogster. It is a great website that allows for interactive presentations. The students can exhibit their creativeness and all the information they learned about a specific subject. Your child has their own individual login and passcode. If you have time this weekend please try and have them show you their hard work.

On Monday the students will be taking their Spell-A-Thon test. The words are on a separate tab on the class blog and are available on Spelling City. Please try and get pledges for all their correct spelling words! I know my class is going to bring in the most because they do phenomenal on their spelling and vocabulary tests each week!!!!

Common Core Practice Test

When we come back from break the 3-5 grades are going to be taking a practice common core test. My class has already experienced taking the test and everything that goes into it. If you would like to take the test and get a feel for the test you can access the link here: Smarter Balanced. Select the grade you wish, then click either Math or ELA Practice Test, or Math Performance Task.

Spell-A-Thon

Lists are going home for the Spell-A-Thon today. Please take a moment to look over the packet. I put the spelling words up on Spelling City so the students could have fun while studying them over break (I know, it's their favorite thing to do). They really do love all the education games on there. I hope you enjoy your break and I will see everyone on Monday, April 21.

Silverwood Wildlife Sanctuary

We had a lot of fun today. I was so proud of my kids. They had a ton of knowledge to share and were so attentive when there was new information being shared. Here are a couple of pictures I took today. If you took pictures and have Instagram can you please tag me in them so I can keep those photos. My username is meghandingle.

Spell-A-Thon

Planning is underway for the 2nd annual Lakeview Elementary PTA Spell-A-Thon! The Spell-A-Thon is scheduled for Monday, April 28 at 9:00 am.

Highlights for this years Spell-A-Thon will be a spelling bee trophy for one class in each grade with the highest spelling average and a popsicle party for one class in each grade with the highest average pledges.

Look for student handouts; instructions, spelling list and pledge sheets to be sent home with your student on Friday, April 4th.

Last year was a successful fundraiser, and we are hoping to do even better this year!
